Amagbein Denies Sabotage Plot, Reaffirms Loyalty to Tinubu Ahead of 2027

A Niger Delta ex-agitator, self-styled General Endurance Amagbein, has strongly denied allegations linking him to a purported plan to disrupt pro-government political campaigns in the region, describing the claims as false and politically motivated.
In a statement issued through his aide in Abuja on Monday, April 20, Amagbein dismissed reports suggesting he was mobilizing to undermine support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu over delays in decentralizing pipeline surveillance contracts.
He accused the alleged author of the report, Chief Nelson Ebi, of being a “fictitious character,” claiming the publication was orchestrated by certain pipeline surveillance contractors seeking to tarnish his image.
The former militant leader, popularly known as “Adaka Boro the Second,” insisted that he remains a committed supporter of President Tinubu and would never engage in activities capable of jeopardizing the President’s political future, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Amagbein described the allegations as part of a coordinated smear campaign by adversaries, alleging that the same individuals had previously linked him to the Okuama incident in a bid to secure surveillance contract renewals.
According to him, the latest claims are a desperate attempt to discredit him after earlier efforts failed, adding that the report was designed to mislead the public and provoke suspicion among state actors.
Despite the controversy, Amagbein reiterated his call for the decentralization of pipeline surveillance contracts, arguing that such reforms would foster transparency, improve efficiency, and significantly reduce crude oil theft—especially by insiders within the system.
He maintained that no level of blackmail would deter him from advocating for policies he believes would benefit the Niger Delta and its people.
Reflecting on his political stance, Amagbein said he had mobilized extensive grassroots support across the Niger Delta for Tinubu during the 2023 elections and remains proud of that role.
He further pledged to sustain his support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and expressed readiness to deploy the same level of commitment toward securing Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Calling on the public to disregard what he described as fabricated reports, Amagbein urged his supporters to remain steadfast in backing the current administration, pointing to ongoing development projects in the Niger Delta as evidence of the government’s dedication to the region.
