Founder’s Daughter Rejects Viral Comments, Says RCCG Must Stay United Behind Adeboye

The daughter of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Akindayomi, Mrs. Titilayo Akindayomi-Adewale, has dismissed reports alleging that she criticized some senior pastors of the church for not recognizing her father as its founder or that she was campaigning for the preservation of his legacy.
In a statement shared on her Facebook page on Monday, Akindayomi-Adewale described the reports as false, misleading, and designed to create unnecessary controversy within the church.
She categorically stated that the comments being circulated online were never made by her, either directly or indirectly, urging members of the public to disregard the claims and stop spreading misinformation.
According to her, the greatest legacy left behind by her father was not physical structures or monuments but the countless lives he transformed through his ministry and unwavering faith in God.
«”For the record, Baba’s image or lack thereof on any edifice on earth is nothing compared to making Heaven and his face being recognized there,” she wrote.»
Reflecting on her father’s life, she explained that Pa Akindayomi never pursued material wealth, fame, or earthly recognition. She recalled that he was even reluctant to own a personal residence because he placed little value on material possessions.
“My father consistently believed in building people rather than merely constructing buildings. He never believed in acquiring wealth or earthly possessions,” she stated.
She emphasized that it would therefore be inconsistent to suggest that the late church founder desired his name or image to be prominently displayed on buildings or institutions.
Akindayomi-Adewale further alleged that those behind the reports were attempting to sow discord within the RCCG by distracting members from the church’s spiritual mission.
“In my opinion, this report and similar ones are not about me, my father, or even the leadership of the RCCG. Instead, they are intended to create unnecessary arguments and division. Their purpose is to divert attention from the divine work currently being carried out and sow discord among us,” she said.
She warned individuals circulating the reports to desist from what she described as mischievous acts of misinformation capable of causing unnecessary tension among church members.
Reaffirming her confidence in the current leadership of the church, Akindayomi-Adewale expressed her support for the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, praying for God to grant him and his family continued wisdom, strength, and divine guidance as they lead the RCCG.
