The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the immediate redeployment of seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and 18 Commissioners of Police (CPs) in key offices across the country.
According to Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, this strategic reorganization was aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Among the newly appointed AIGs are Margaret Ochalla (AIG FCID Annex, Lagos), Abayomi Peter Oladipo (AIG Zone 13, Ukpo), Fred Ekokotu (AIG Zone 11, Osogbo), Iwo Nemi Edwin Osigboka (AIG Border Patrol Force, Abuja), Garba Ahmed (AIG Department of Training and Development, Abuja), Salman Dogo (AIG Zone 5, Benin), and Kanayo Uzuegbu (AIG Zone 9, Umuahia).
Additionally, 18 CPs, awaiting confirmation of their promotion to AIG by the Police Service Commission (PSC), have been posted to strategic positions nationwide.
Notable appointments include CP Patrick Adedeji Atayero as Commandant of the Police Academy, Kano; CP Tolani Alausa to AIG Zone 16, Yenagoa; CP Mobolaji Victor Olaiya to AIG DICT, Force Headquarters, Abuja; and CP Laolu Adegbite, MFR, to AIG Interpol, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The IGP has directed all affected officers to approach their new roles with professionalism and commitment, emphasizing the importance of effective supervision and adherence to ongoing police reforms.
He expressed confidence that these deployments would strengthen the Force’s capacity to maintain law and order, improve service delivery, and enhance national security.
