Fresh political developments have emerged in Bayelsa State as the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee for Southern Ijaw Local Government Area has reportedly concluded the selection of aspirants for the State House of Assembly across the four constituencies.
The committee, made up of representatives from all four constituencies in Southern Ijaw, released the names of aspirants picked for further consideration ahead of the party’s internal processes for the forthcoming State Assembly elections.
For Constituency 4, the shortlisted names include Hon. Ebitei Robert Tonyon, Hon. Basil Kenbo, and the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Selekaye Ben.In Constituency 3, the committee selected Hon. Charles Ebidei, Hon. Joe Alakere, and Engr. Manash Ayibapreye as the leading aspirants for the APC ticket.
For Constituency 2, the names picked are Hon. Myson Izonebi, Hon. Temple Newman Dickson, and Hon. Tarakiri Benedict Ogboin.
Meanwhile, in Constituency 1, the shortlisted aspirants are Hon. Collins Baker, Hon. Tonbra Joseph Inegbegha, and Dr. Coronation Tokpo.The announcement has already stirred political conversations across Southern Ijaw, with party faithful and stakeholders closely watching the next phase of the selection process
