Omo-Agege Claims Victory in Delta Central APC Senate Primary, Awaits Abuja Confirmation

By Passman Akpos

Former Deputy Senate President and APC chieftain, Ovie Omo-Agege, has declared victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senate Primary for Delta Central Senatorial District, following what he described as a “decisive win” across all 85 wards in the district’s eight Local Government Areas.

In a press statement issued on May 18, 2026, Omo-Agege expressed gratitude to party leaders, delegates, and members of the All Progressives Congress for what he called their “resolute support and historic turnout” during the primary election.

According to him, results collated from the wards showed overwhelming support in his favour, with long open-secret balloting queues reflecting what he termed a strong mandate from party faithful.

“This outcome is a clear endorsement of our mission to strengthen the party and deliver stronger representation at the national level,” he stated, adding that he was humbled by the trust reposed in him and inspired by the unity, discipline, and order displayed throughout the exercise.

Omo-Agege said the conclusion of the primary now shifts attention to the general election, where he aims to secure the Delta Central Senate seat for the APC while also mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the presidential election scheduled for the same day.

He emphasized that the next phase would involve consolidating party unity and mobilizing every ward for victory, describing the primary outcome as a collective triumph for fairness, party cohesion, and progress.

The APC stalwart also noted that, in line with the directive of the party’s National Organizing Secretary, members should await the official declaration from the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja.

He called on party supporters to remain calm, united, and focused as the final collation and formal announcement process is concluded.

“This victory belongs to every APC member in Delta Central who stood for fairness, party cohesion, and progress,” he said.

Omo-Agege further pledged to redouble his efforts in serving the people of Delta Central, defending their interests in the Senate, and working for the success of the APC across Delta State and the country at large
