Omokri questioned the absence of public campaigns or solidarity visits from party members, stating that none accompanied the former governor to the anti-graft agency when he was reportedly detained on February 16, 2026, a date he noted coincided with El-Rufai’s 66th birthday.

The commentator also criticized Arise TV, claiming the station had shifted focus away from El-Rufai after initially featuring him in interviews and discussions. He specifically referenced the station’s popular segment What’s Trending With Ojy Okpe, noting that the former governor had not appeared in recent trending discussions.
Omokri argued that public interest in the story may have waned, suggesting that online engagement metrics could have influenced editorial attention.

In the post, Omokri further alleged that El-Rufai’s family members and social media supporters had remained largely silent about his situation. He described the silence as surprising, particularly given their previous online visibility during political debates.
