“Federal Hunters or Highway Killers? Udu Branch Accused of Knocking Down Innocent Youth and Watching Him Die”

........Outrage in Delta as Federal Hunters Allegedly Knock Down Youth, Ignore Victim for 45 Minutes

By Passman Akpos

Fresh controversy has erupted in Delta State following serious allegations against the Federal Hunters, Udu branch, after they were accused of knocking down a young man identified as Ebilade from Igoba Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom and allegedly abandoning him while pursuing extortion-related activities.

According to eyewitness claims shared by Raphael Ayeibo, the disturbing incident happened along Udu Road when members of the Federal Hunters were reportedly chasing suspected internet fraudsters, popularly referred to as “Yahoo boys,” in an attempt to collect settlement.

Ayeibo alleged that while trying to overtake a GLK vehicle, the Federal Hunters’ vehicle hit Ebilade, who was said to be riding within his rightful lane.

“What happened was shocking. They knocked him down and still acted like nothing happened. Instead of helping him, they kept dragging and negotiating with the boys for over 45 minutes,” he said.

The situation reportedly changed only after the intervention of the Udu Combine Squad, who arrived at the scene, rescued the injured victim, and arrested the leader of the Federal Hunters Udu branch, who was allegedly behind the wheel at the time of the incident.

“If not for the Combine Squad, we may never have known what truly happened to him,” Ayeibo added, accusing the group of trying to quietly suppress the matter.

He further claimed that despite promises allegedly made by the Federal Hunters after the incident, they have failed to fulfill their commitments.

“We will not allow this matter to be buried. We will take it as far as it needs to go,” he declared.

The incident has triggered outrage across social media, with many residents expressing anger over what they described as growing lawlessness and abuse of power by security-linked groups operating in the Warri/Udu axis.

Some reactions included:

“Thank God say he no pass like this.”

“Jesus Christ… see my brother oooh.”

“The heart of man is very wicked.”

“These forces are becoming unbearable. The Delta State Government must address this before things get completely out of hand.”

Others called on journalists and public figures to investigate the matter, demanding justice for the victim and stricter oversight of local enforcement groups.

As public pressure mounts, many are now asking whether authorities in Delta State will launch a full investigation into the conduct of the Federal Hunters Udu branch and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
