NDDC Issues September 1 Ultimatum To Contractors: Fix Your Company Letters Or Face Return

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has directed all contractors, vendors, consultants, service providers and members of the public doing business with the Commission to comply with new Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) requirements on company letterheads.
The directive follows the CAC Public Notice issued on July 8, 2026, announcing the strict enforcement of Section 304(1), 304(1)(c) and 304(2) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020, effective August 1, 2026.
According to the NDDC public notice, every registered company is required to legibly state certain information on all its business letters.
The required information includes the company’s full registered name and RC Number, the present forenames or initials and surnames of all its directors, any former forenames and surnames of directors, as well as the nationality of every director who is not Nigerian.
NDDC Sets September 1 Enforcement DateThe Commission said it would commence its own enforcement of the requirement from September 1, 2026.
Under the directive, the NDDC will no longer process or accept business letters printed on company letterheads that fail to comply with Section 304 of CAMA 2020.
The Commission, however, clarified that non-compliant documents would not automatically be treated as rejected contracts or proposals.
Instead, such submissions would be returned to the affected companies for regularisation, strictly to ensure compliance with the required documentation standards.
Contractors Told To Act Immediately
The NDDC urged all contractors, consultants, vendors, service providers and other persons or organisations intending to conduct business with the Commission to immediately review their company letterheads and ensure that they contain all information required under the law
The Commission said the directive was issued to ensure that documentation submitted by businesses dealing with the NDDC complies with the statutory requirements being enforced by the CAC.
The notice was signed by the Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
The development means companies seeking to submit proposals, correspondence, contractual documents or other business communications to the NDDC from September 1 will need to ensure that their letterheads meet the specified CAMA 2020 requirements to avoid having their documents returned for correction.
