“Who Are You To Lecture Boyloaf?” — Osia Tears Into Ogunboss, Questions His Past With Tompolo As ‘Sudden Defence’ Sparks Hypocrisy, Political Realignment Debate

A fresh and increasingly bitter war of words has erupted in the Niger Delta, as Apostle Ezekiel Perela Daniel Osia has launched another scathing attack on Paul Eres, popularly known as “General Ogunboss,” accusing him of hypocrisy and questioning what he described as his sudden emergence as a defender of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

Osia’s latest outburst followed Ogunboss’ criticism of former militant commander Ebikabowei Victor Ben, popularly known as Boyloaf, over his comments concerning Tompolo

In a series of statements attributed to Osia, the activist questioned why Ogunboss, whom he accused of remaining silent during previous controversies involving Tompolo, had now become particularly vocal after Tompolo reportedly reached out for peace.

“Severally, Tompolo kidnapped Bayelsans, locked them in his prison — Charles, Karuwei. Ogunboss kept mute, but now that Tompolo reached out for peace, is when this idiot dey show face,” Osia stated.

The allegation of kidnapping and imprisonment is serious and has not been independently established by TarakiriVoice. No conclusion is being drawn regarding the claims.

“From Hunting Tompolo To Defending Him?”

Osia’s central argument is that Ogunboss’ current posture toward Tompolo appears inconsistent with what Osia portrays as his position during earlier periods of conflict in the Niger Delta.

The activist previously accused Ogunboss of being associated with efforts to locate Tompolo during the Federal Government’s crackdown on the former militant leader.

In his latest statement, Osia sought to revive that controversy, arguing that Ogunboss cannot, in his view, conveniently rewrite the history of the region simply because relationships and circumstances have changed.

Those allegations remain claims by Osia and have not been independently verified.

Osia Drags Boyloaf Into The Fight

Osia also challenged Ogunboss’ description of Boyloaf, alleging that Boyloaf’s trajectory in the Niger Delta struggle should be understood within the wider history of former militant commanders.

“Boyloaf started from Tompolo, just the way he too started from Kennedy,” Osia alleged, while making an additional claim concerning Ogunboss’ educational history.

The claims were delivered in highly inflammatory language, reflecting the increasingly personal nature of the dispute.

“You Buried Your Father In Yenagoa”

In another provocative part of his statement, Osia attacked Ogunboss over the burial of his father in Yenagoa, describing the decision as contrary to what he considers traditional expectations.

“Your dad in Yenagoa, an abomination act,” Osia alleged, further claiming that Ogunboss was allegedly influenced by fear of Amagbein in his community.

The comments have not been independently verified and reflect Osia’s personal position rather than an established cultural or factual conclusion.

Tantita And Otuaro Claims

Osia went further, making predictions concerning the future of Tantita Security Services and the tenure of Chief Dennis Brutus Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

“Ogunboss, Tantita job will not be renewed, Dennis Otuaro will not be re-appointed,” Osia declared.

However, these are predictions or assertions attributed to Osia and should not be interpreted as confirmed government decisions.

There is currently no basis in the statement itself to establish that Osia possesses authority to determine the future of either Tantita’s contracts or Otuaro’s appointment.

The Bigger Question: Who Speaks For The Niger Delta?

Beyond the insults and personal attacks, the latest confrontation exposes a deeper struggle over influence, legitimacy and leadership within the Niger Delta.

Tompolo remains one of the most influential former militant figures in the region, while Tantita has emerged as a major participant in oil-pipeline surveillance operations.

The political and economic significance of these developments has inevitably generated competing narratives among activists, former militants, community leaders and political actors.

Ogunboss’ attack on Boyloaf and Osia’s subsequent counterattack have therefore transformed what might ordinarily have been a disagreement between individuals into another public argument over who has the credibility to speak about the Niger Delta struggle.

Ogunboss Under Pressure To Explain His Position?

Osia’s latest intervention places a difficult question before Ogunboss:

What exactly changed?

If Ogunboss once held a hostile position toward Tompolo, as Osia alleges, what explains his present-day defence of him?

And if his position has genuinely changed, is he prepared to explain publicly why?

For Ogunboss, Osia’s latest barrage creates an opportunity to explain his position and respond to the specific allegations levelled against him.

For Osia, the challenge is equally clear: provide evidence capable of substantiating the serious allegations being made against his opponents.

Until then, the public is left with competing narratives.

One side says Tompolo should be defended from what it considers unfair attacks.

The other side argues that those defending him today must first explain their positions during earlier conflicts.

The increasingly heated Ogunboss-Osia confrontation therefore appears to be about much more than Boyloaf.

It is becoming another battle over the history, influence and future direction of the Niger Delta.
