Rivers APC Releases Assembly Screening Report, Fixes May 12 for Appeals by Aspirants

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially announced the release of the screening committee report for aspirants seeking to contest for seats in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
In a press statement dated May 10, 2026, and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Chibike Ikenga, the party disclosed that all members who purchased the House of Assembly Expression of Interest and Nomination forms and participated in the screening exercise should proceed to verify their status.
According to the statement, aspirants are expected to check the outcome of the screening on the notice board located at the APC State Secretariat, No. 268B, Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway, Port Harcourt.
The party further stated that any aspirant dissatisfied with the outcome of the screening exercise has been given the opportunity to file an appeal through the party secretariat.
The appeal process has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, 2026, by 10:00 a.m., at the same venue—the APC State Secretariat along the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway.
The APC leadership emphasized that the process is part of its commitment to transparency and internal democracy as preparations intensify for the forthcoming political contests in the state.
The announcement has already sparked reactions among party faithful and political observers in Rivers State, with many closely monitoring the next steps in the party’s assembly nomination process.
