“April 10: Bola Ahmed Tinubu Heads to Bayelsa as Gas Turbine Hype Hits Boiling Point”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit Bayelsa State on April 10 to commission a series of major infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Governor Duoye Diri.
Top on the list of projects slated for inauguration are the much-anticipated gas turbine power project and the Angiama-Oporoma Bridge, both described as flagship initiatives aimed at boosting connectivity and electricity supply in the state.
The planned visit was disclosed in an official statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who noted that the Bayelsa trip forms part of a broader four-state tour by the President.
Prior to arriving in Bayelsa, Tinubu is expected to observe the Easter holiday in Lagos, where he will commission a number of key projects undertaken by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. These include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a multi-agency complex named in his honour, and a newly constructed school complex
The Bayelsa leg of the President’s tour is already generating heightened public interest, as residents and stakeholders look forward to the formal unveiling of projects seen as critical to the state’s development. Analysts say the visit will serve as both a showcase of the Diri administration’s achievements and a test of public confidence, especially amid lingering concerns over the delivery and sustainability of large-scale infrastructure projects in the Niger Delta.
With expectations rising, many will be watching closely to see whether the commissioned projects—particularly the gas turbine—deliver tangible improvements or join the long list of ambitious promises that failed to meet public hopes.
