He pointed out that a major army barracks is located in nearby Rukuba and called on Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigeria’s service chiefs to address the growing insecurity. “Jos is bleeding,” he lamented, urging authorities to act decisively.
However, local sources and residents were quick to clarify a key geographical distinction that has shaped public debate. According to multiple accounts, Angwan Rukuba—where the attack reportedly occurred—is a separate settlement from Rukuba Barracks. While both are within the Jos metropolis, they are not the same location, and some residents estimate the distance between them to be between 15 and 45 minutes depending on traffic and response speed.
