Manhunt in Bayelsa: Police Declare Bodmas Prince Kemepadei Wanted Over Alleged Murder

The Nigeria Police Force, Bayelsa State Command, has declared a 36-year-old man, Bodmas Prince Kemepadei, wanted over his alleged involvement in a case of conspiracy and murder linked to an incident within the Amassoma–Yenagoa axis of the state.
According to a notice issued at the State Police Headquarters in Yenagoa, the suspect is being sought in connection with the alleged killing of Patrick Peresuodei. Police sources stated that the incident reportedly occurred across parts of the riverine community of Amassoma and surrounding areas.
Authorities disclosed that a warrant of arrest has been issued by the High Court of Bayelsa State to facilitate the suspect’s apprehension.
In the physical description released by the command, Kemepadei is identified as an Ijaw male, aged 36, with a round face, small mouth, thin lips, dark complexion, and a low forehead. His last known address was listed as ICCH Centre, Tenacious Street, Ede-Epie, Yenagoa.
The police called on members of the public with credible information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the Bayelsa State Police Command through its emergency channels. Authorities emphasized that public cooperation remains critical to ongoing efforts to ensure justice and strengthen security across the state.
Background to the Incident
The development follows earlier reports by Tarakirivoice concerning the death of a youth in Amassoma after an incident allegedly linked to a social media dispute.
Family members and community sources identified the deceased as Patrick Peresuodei, alleging that he was abducted from his residence after an argument on Facebook with Kemepadei, who locals have described as an associate of former Niger Delta militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.
According to accounts from relatives and youth leaders, the victim was allegedly taken by a group of armed men and later returned to his family in critical condition after sustaining severe injuries.
Sources said he was initially treated at medical facilities in Yenagoa before being referred to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, where he reportedly slipped into a coma and died days later. His remains are said to be deposited in a morgue pending further procedures.
The incident has sparked outrage among youths and community stakeholders in Amassoma, who have called for a thorough investigation and swift action by security agencies.
Police authorities have reiterated that investigations are ongoing and urged residents to remain calm while assisting with credible information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.
