“153 Entertainers, One Man: Niger Delta Shuts Down for Kestin Pondi’s Birthday”

It was a remarkable display of love, unity, and cultural pride as entertainers from across the Niger Delta converged to celebrate the birthday of High Chief Engr. Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, on February 4, 2026.
In a note of appreciation released after the event, Chief Barrister S. Smooth, DE Paddle of the Niger Delta, described the turnout as “mind-blowing,” revealing that over 153 entertainers from different parts of the region came together to honour the revered security chief, widely regarded as an icon of light, service, and goodness in the Niger Delta.
According to him, beyond the fanfare, the event reflected the resilience and determination of the creative community, particularly the Bayelsa State musicians, who he praised for standing firm and celebrating the legend in unity despite challenges.

Smooth also expressed deep gratitude to close associates and dignitaries who supported the celebration, giving special recognition to High Chief Promise Lawuru, famously known as the only Ozigi Zaga of Africa, for his unwavering support and presence.
While acknowledging the success of the event, the organizer offered a sincere apology to several artistes who attended but could not perform due to time constraints, assuring them that their presence was valued and that future events would deliberately integrate and specially recognize them.
The appreciation message also extended special thanks to Gbaramatu Voice TV and other media platforms for their role in amplifying the event and promoting the cultural heritage and collective support for “Daddy K,” as High Chief Pondi is fondly called.
