New Year unity visit to Diri turns bloody as vehicle conveying 13 Traditional Rulers skids off road led to death of Ofoni Monarch- INC Chairman sent Condolence message

The Chairman of the Ijaw National Congress, Tarakiri Clan Chapter, Engr Lokiri Lawrence has condoled with the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, Sen. Lawrence Ewrudjakpo and the good people of Ofoni Federated Community, for the Demised of their Royal Father, Amananaowei HRH Auditor Onakpohor.
Recall, Tarakirivoice has earlier reported that, a convoy of the former Governor of Bayelsa state and a current senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Henry Seriake Dickson, involved in a ghastly car accident- yesterday, One of the occupants already confirmed dead and several others sustained various degrees of injuries.
In a condolence message made available to Tarakirivoice today, signed by the INC Chairman, Engr Lokiri Lawrence, noted that, the respected traditional ruler was part of a Bayelsa West Delegation on their way to the country home of His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State at Sampou for a usual New Year unity visit, when the vehicle conveying about 13 Traditional Rulers skidded off the road near Sagbama Town, severely injuring many and the unfortunate death of the Ofoni Monarch.
The INC Chairman Engr Lokiri Lawrence sympathizing with the people of Bayelsa West and Ofoni Community in particular, noted that HRH Onakpohor is a very wise king who cared so much about his people and the development and unity of the state, and that no doubt the Government and good people of Ofoni would miss his wise counsels.
The INC Chairman, Prayed to God, to grant the immediate family of the deceased monarch and the people of Ofoni federated community the fortitude to bear the unfortunate loss, He also pledged to the state government and the people of Ofoni Community of the group’s availability to support in whatever way required of it to ensure that the late monach receives a befitting burial worthy of royalty of his Class.
Engr Lokiri also prayed for the speedy recovery of other royalties and persons who sustained various degrees of injuries and now receiving care at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri, and the peaceful repose of the deceased, stressing that his death will never be forgotten in a hurry as his appointment with the creator came at a time he was on a good course and has so far ruled over God’s people in his kingdom with fairness, equity and justice.
